With A Single Location Offering So Many Activities for Both Lake and Land

We’re Kentucky’s Smartest Place to Fully Connect With Nature.

Barkley for Boaters

On Lake Barkley, you’re just as likely to see pontoon boat or a party atop a house boat at sunset. That’s because our waters are ideal for any number of activities.

Boat tours circle the lake and reveal bits and pieces of our history, guides put anglers on the best fishing holes, floating family reunions and buoyant birthday parties putt about on pontoon boats, the adventure-minded zip across the water on jet skis, and those seeking a more serene experience explore the coves and cays from a kayak or canoe.

And why stop there? Throw wakeboarding, tubing, standup paddleboarding, and water skiing into the mix and you have a full day on the water.

Bringing your own boat? Great, there are plenty of marinas and boat ramps around Cadiz, so you can explore Lake Barkley on your terms. And if your own boat is a canoe or kayak, it’s that much easier to get out on the water.

Want to spend a night on the water? Rent a houseboat and drift off to sleep (after you’ve dropped anchor, that is)

Rental Boats are also available at our local Marinas, Prizer-Point (270) 522-3762, Lake Barkley (270) 924-9954, and Moon River (270) 522-7638.

Rentals fees are charged by the hour or receive some savings by booking the entire day. Have fun out on the lake.

With Lake Barkley practically lapping at our doorstep and Kentucky Lake just a few minutes away, when you’re in Cadiz, you’ll never want for water. No matter how you take your pleasure—fishing, cruising the lake, canoeing or kayaking, or simply admiring the sunset—you’ll find it on our lakes.

Looking for great memories the kids will have with them forever—to share with their kids? Look no further. Families love fishing here because, from crappie to bass, there’s plenty to catch. And plenty of places to reel in one the littlest anglers will remember forever.

There are many opportunities for fishing all year round. Many of our marinas offer fishing right near their property. Fishing guide services are available through each marina as well as all your fishing supplies.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife also stock one of our local streams with rainbow trout. Casey Creek will provide the excitement of trout fishing with your rod and reel or fly fishing.

Landside Exploration

Once you’ve had your fill of the water, try exploring the land around Cadiz and Land Between the Lakes. Hiking, biking, running, and riding are just a few of the ways you can get out and discover the charming nature here.

Great for Gamers

AND the Origin of a Game Call Icon

Whether you’re out to bag a buck or you’re ready to hit the fields for a little birding, Cadiz has got a cabin with your name on it. Archers, grab your bow… Gunners, grab your rifle – hunters of all sorts love the Lake Barkley fields and forests for the challenge and thrill they find here.

And in fact, long before Duck Dynasty stormed America, two Cadiz friends, Harold Knight and David Hale, set out to create a better game call – but ended up impacting the entire hunting industry! That was 1972 and now, the Knight and Hale brand can be found in retailers from WalMart to Bass Pro and available on Amazon (what’s not on Amazon?).

Family horseback riding

Kentucky is Horse Country.

Kentucky itself is known as “the Land of the Horse” and was even the home of the 2010 World Equestrian Games!

And ‘round these parts, there are more than 80 miles of horseback trails to explore in Land Between the Lakes.

Rides range from two to 20 miles in distance and lead you past historic sites, ponds, structures half-a-century old, and into some of the most beautiful landscapes you’ll find around Cadiz.

Bicyclists take note.

With all those paved roads, it’s easy to get in a long ride and spend the day with the wind in your face. It’s just as easy to head out into the woods along the roads and trails there, challenging yourself to push the pace on your mountain bike.

Road rides or trail rides, it doesn’t matter, bicyclists agree that this is a great place to ride.
