Barkley for Boaters
On Lake Barkley, you’re just as likely to see pontoon boat or a party atop a house boat at sunset. That’s because our waters are ideal for any number of activities.
Boat tours circle the lake and reveal bits and pieces of our history, guides put anglers on the best fishing holes, floating family reunions and buoyant birthday parties putt about on pontoon boats, the adventure-minded zip across the water on jet skis, and those seeking a more serene experience explore the coves and cays from a kayak or canoe.
And why stop there? Throw wakeboarding, tubing, standup paddleboarding, and water skiing into the mix and you have a full day on the water.
Bringing your own boat? Great, there are plenty of marinas and boat ramps around Cadiz, so you can explore Lake Barkley on your terms. And if your own boat is a canoe or kayak, it’s that much easier to get out on the water.
Want to spend a night on the water? Rent a houseboat and drift off to sleep (after you’ve dropped anchor, that is)

AND the Origin of a Game Call Icon
Whether you’re out to bag a buck or you’re ready to hit the fields for a little birding, Cadiz has got a cabin with your name on it. Archers, grab your bow… Gunners, grab your rifle – hunters of all sorts love the Lake Barkley fields and forests for the challenge and thrill they find here.
And in fact, long before Duck Dynasty stormed America, two Cadiz friends, Harold Knight and David Hale, set out to create a better game call – but ended up impacting the entire hunting industry! That was 1972 and now, the Knight and Hale brand can be found in retailers from WalMart to Bass Pro and available on Amazon (what’s not on Amazon?).
There are more than 300 miles of trails perfect for trail running and some 200 miles of paved and unpaved road where you can stretch your legs, find your groove, and settle in for a long run.

And ‘round these parts, there are more than 80 miles of horseback trails to explore in Land Between the Lakes.
Rides range from two to 20 miles in distance and lead you past historic sites, ponds, structures half-a-century old, and into some of the most beautiful landscapes you’ll find around Cadiz.

With all those paved roads, it’s easy to get in a long ride and spend the day with the wind in your face. It’s just as easy to head out into the woods along the roads and trails there, challenging yourself to push the pace on your mountain bike.
