Winter is peak season for bald eagle viewing in Land Between the Lakes! Both our year-round resident eagles and visiting winter “snowbirds” are out looking for fish on the lakes. Join this van tour to visit several eagle viewing hotspots and look for these breathtaking birds in the wild! Our naturalists will help you spot the eagles and other wildlife, as well as zoom in with spotting scopes for a closer look.
Provisions: 2 – 10 passenger vans (seat up to 20 total participants), restrooms (at the start of the tour)
Key Information: Participants will ride in a van to several eagle-viewing locations, mainly by the lake shore. You will get out at each location to scan the shores/skies. You will want to bring binoculars if you have them and water.
Considerations: Some moderate walking may be involved; dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes; it will feel colder and windier by the shoreline. Car seats must be provided by parents for small children. No pets are allowed on the tour.
Meeting Location: Nature Station; Golden Pond Visitor’s Center ; Meet at the North Welcome Station
Cancelation Policy: If the reservation is cancelled outside of 2 business days of the event, you will receive a full refund for the event. If it is canceled within 2 business days of the event, no refund can be provided. In the event of the event needing to be canceled on our end, you receive a full refund.
$15 per person, registration limited. Reservation and full deposit required. Call 270-924-2020 to reserve your space. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars. Moderate walking may be required.
They will not offer eagle boat cruises this year as the boat captain has retired.
